Thank you for visiting the Sydney Chinese English Language Exchange Group. Unfortunately this group closed in 2010 due to not being able to find a time and day that suited everyone! Until another group starts up we recommend our fantastic private language tutors

Thank you for your interest in the Chinese English Language Exchange group. Unfortunately, after running this for a year, it is time to close it and move onto other things. It was fun to meet people from China and practice Chinese.

Our last meeting will be at P J O’Brien’s Irish Pub 57 King Street, inside the Grace Hotel, at the tables out the back. Thursday 9th December 2010 8pm to 10pm.

For future events where you can meet and practice your English, I recommend Sydney Friends. You can find out more about Lindsay’s monthly group here:

Sydney Friends Party

I hope to catch up with you there.

James

The Chinese English Language Exchange Group is here for you to relax and practice your beginner Chinese over a glass of alcohol and make new friends. It is informal, friendly and all about learning more about Chinese culture and customs.Chinese English Exchange Group

Being in a crowded pub means you may have trouble finding the group as we don’t advertise ourselves and the regularly changing girls behind the bar don’t know us. Usually 4-6 people having a chat.

Since starting the group in January and testing various times it’s been decided that the best time to start is actually 8pm. You’re welcome to meet earlier of course but that is the time most people start turning up.

So:

Time: 8pm til late

Location: P J O’Brien’s Irish Pub. In the Grace Hotel, a short walk from Town Hall station. Corner of Clarence Street and King Street Sydney

Cost: What you spend on drinks

We look forward to seeing you there.

As the New Windsor Hotel has a Japanese only event on Thursdays (no English), which has been there since the 90s, we’re also going to move pubs. The new pub is P J Obrien’s  - website: www.pjobriens.com.au   click on ‘Sydney’

Hi. If you’re still having trouble finding someone to practice your Mandarin with, join our group!

The next meeting officially starts at 8pm on Wednesday 3rd of February. This time was chosen as it is the time the Mandarin Language Course at Adult Language School finishes. It enables some of the students to come and join the group.

If you’re in the city early and wish to meet someone before 8pm, I can usually be there anytime after 6pm, depending on the day. Always happy to practice Mandarin or English a bit earlier!

Location: New Windsor Hotel corner Park Street and Castlereagh Street. A short walk from Town Hall station.
